Faculty and staff members can add a preferred first and/or last name to change how your name appears in MAP, the WVU Online Directory, STAR, and other WVU systems.* Changing your preferred name in these systems does not automatically update your WVU email account(s).
If you would like to add or change a preferred first and/or last name and/or change your email address to reflect your preferred name, click the Update Preferred Name button.
This process is not required for students or employees who officially change their legal names.
*This service will only update your preferred name in WVU systems that have been approved. This service does not guarantee that your name will be updated in all WVU systems.
Any faculty or staff member with an activated Login may request this service.
