Software for Personally Owned Computers


The West Virginia University Software License Information Center (SLIC) negotiates annual software site license agreements with many software vendors to provide students, faculty, and staff with free or discounted software for their personally owned machines.

Discounted SPSS/AMOS and SAS/JMP Software

The following software is available at a discounted price for teaching and non-commercial academic research:


Requests for SPSS/AMOS and SAS/JMP for personally owned computers are processed through Computer Repair and Assistance (CRA). Students, faculty, and staff wishing to purchase license(s) for use on a personally owned computer should click the Purchase Software button on this page to submit a ticket to CRA. Once the ticket is complete, a payment can be made by contacting CRA at 304-293-6201 or by visiting G49 Brooke Tower on the Evansdale Campus. Once CRA processes the payment, SLIC will fulfill the software request via email.


All current WVU Main Campus, HSC, and regional campus students, faculty and staff.


Pricing for individual use on a personally owned computer:

SPSS Faculty $160
SPSS Students $90
AMOS Faculty (Not compatible with Mac) $85
AMOS Students (Not compatible with Mac) $60
SAS Faculty (Not compatible with Mac) $60
SAS Students (Not compatible with Mac) $25
JMP Faculty $65
JMP Students $25
License Period

SPSS/AMOS software and SAS/JMP software are annual subscriptions that run from the date of issue of each license through June 30 of each fiscal year. At that time, and each year thereafter, it will be necessary to pay an additional fee to renew each license. The license fees are prorated quarterly.
