Schedule Builder

Overview:

The information below is about Schedule Builder, a new tool that helps you create your class schedule.

What is Schedule Builder?

Schedule Builder lets you pick the classes you want to take in the coming semester and enter “breaks” when other obligations prevent you from taking classes. Schedule Builder then automatically generates every possible combination of classes and shows schedules in a grid view with the times, locations, and instructors.

As you lock down your most important classes, Schedule Builder adjusts, generating new schedules until you settle on the combination that best matches your preferences. Then just add the schedule to your Shopping Cart and complete the registration process in STAR.

How do I access Schedule Builder?

  1. Log into STAR using your Login credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Registration section.
  3. Click on Schedule Builder. You will be automatically be signed into the Schedule Builder once you click on the link.

Errors when completing registration:

Because Schedule Builder follows all registration rules within STAR, you may get errors if you try to register for restricted sections or courses with prerequisites.

If you are being prompted for a pin when you try to register for a course, contact your advisor. Your advisor should be able to give you a pin number so you can register for the course.

Help:

Start with the Schedule Builder user guide. To view training videos, go to Schedule Builder and click on the Help link in the upper-right corner.

If you have any questions, contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@mail.wvu.edu.
