WVU.Play (MyDevices.wvu.edu)

Overview:

Gaming consoles and smart TVs use the WVU.Play wireless network, with the exception of devices at College Park. You can register and connect these types of devices at mydevices.wvu.edu. You must be on campus and connected to the WVU.Encrypted network to access mydevices.wvu.edu.

If you are unable to play certain games on your gaming laptop or PC, you may need to connect it to WVU.Play instead of WVU.Encrypted due to port limitations. You will need to submit a ticket to the ITS Service Desk before you are able to connect your laptop or PC to WVU.Play.

Note: Any device capable of screen or media sharing will be visible to other users while connected to WVU.Play. To prevent unwanted or unintentional access, consider setting a password on these devices.

Register your device:

To connect to WVU.Play, you need to register your device's MAC address.

  1. Go to mydevices.wvu.edu. You must be on campus and connected to the WVU.Encrypted network to access the mydevices.wvu.edu site.
  2. Sign in with your WVU Login credentials.
  3. In the Device ID field, enter the MAC or Hardware address of the device. This is typically printed on a label on the device itself or may be accessible through a screen menu. It is 12 alphanumeric characters and typically displayed as 6 pairs of characters separated by colons, or 3 groups of 4 characters separated by periods.   4. Click Submit.
