MIX Gmail Prompts You To Re-enter Password

Overview:

There are several reasons why MIX Gmail may prompt you to re-enter your password.

Problem:

You are prompted to re-enter your username and password while trying to access your MIX Gmail account from the WVU Portal.

Possible solutions:

  • Change browsers.
  • Try accessing your Gmail by going directly to mix.wvu.edu/gmail.
  • Clear your browser cache and browser temporary files.
  • Reset the browser back to its defaults.
  • Change your Login password at login.wvu.edu. Allow up to 20 minutes for the password change to sync to Gmail.

Are you a non-registered student or faculty member that is not actively teaching?

If you are a non-registered student or a faculty member who is not actively teaching, follow the steps below to change your password:

  1. Log out of the WVU Portal.
  2. Go to the Login Self Service Portal at login.wvu.edu.
  3. Change your Login password.
  4. Wait a minute and log back into the WVU Portal.
  5. Try accessing your MIX Gmail account.
  6. If you cannot log into your account at mix.wvu.edu/gmail after 20 minutes, call the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444.

Are you a former student?

If you are a former student, follow the steps below to change your password:

  1. Go to the Login Self Service Portal at login.wvu.edu.
  2. Change your Login password.
  3. Log into your MIX Gmail account at mix.wvu.edu/gmail.
