Mathematica

Overview:

Mathematica is the world's most powerful global computing environment. Ideal for use in engineering, mathematics, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, and a wide range of other fields, it makes possible a new level of automation in algorithmic computation, interactive manipulation, and dynamic presentation - as well as a whole new way of interacting with the world of data. Help and learning resources for Mathematica can be found on Wolfram’s support page.

Licensing restrictions:

By purchasing a Mathematica license, you are agreeing to use this software for academic purposes. A single Mathematica license grants the purchaser the right to install the software on their assigned WVU-owned computer and a personal computer. To use the home license, you will need to contact SLIC by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.

Eligibility:

Faculty on the Morgantown campus can request this, but the current license agreement does not include the regional campuses. If someone from a regional campus needs this software, please contact SLIC by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.

WVU faculty who are interested in purchasing Mathematica, but would like to evaluate it first, can request a 3-4 month evaluation code by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.

How to order:

WVU Funds:  Complete the SLIC Software Request Form if purchasing this with WVU funds. All licenses for WVU-owned computers need to be paid for with WVU funding. Once your order is submitted, SLIC will send you an invoice for your order along with instructions on how to make payment.

WVU’s agreement with Wolfram states that WVU must purchase at least 5 licenses per order.  If WVU does not have enough licenses to place an order you will be added to the waiting list, but in the meantime you can request a 3-4 month evaluation code by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.
