Mathematica

Overview:

Mathematica is the world's most powerful global computing environment. Ideal for use in engineering, mathematics, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, and a wide range of other fields, it makes possible a new level of automation in algorithmic computation, interactive manipulation, and dynamic presentation, as well as a whole new way of interacting with the world of data.

How to access Mathematica:

Extended Trial Offer - WVU Faculty who are interested in purchasing Mathematica, but would like to evaluate it first can request a 3-4 month evaluation code by contacting SLIC at software@mail.wvu.edu.

Employees can put Mathematica on WVU-Owned computers by completing the SLIC Online Software Order Form. Minimum of 5 licenses required for purchase. All licenses require an annual commitment through June 2018. Installation instructions will be provided with the SLIC certificate when the software arrives.

Employees can purchase Mathematica for their personal machines by visiting the Individual Licenses section of the Wolfram Higher Ed webpage.

Students have access to Mathematica in the Downtown Campus Library and Evansdale Library. Students can also purchase a Mathematica Student license for personally owned computers from the Wolfram website. Both Desktop and Online licenses are available. Pricing starts as low as $11 per month.

License Type - Annual Subscription Cost
Individual seat - 5 license minimum, requires annual commitment through June 2018 $205 per computer per year, prorated quarterly
Network Seats - 5 license minimum, requires annual commitment through June 2018 $265 per seat plus $120 for license server, per year
