Credit cards and debit/check cards that can be used as credit cards are also accepted.

Note: International credit cards are also accepted as long as the card is branded with the Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express logo AND there are no restrictions on the customer’s card (i.e. their card/bank allows transactions outside of the originating country).

For all questions regarding charges on your card or charges against your bank account for Mountie Bounty, submit a ticket using the Mountaineer Card Charges & Refunds service page.
While there may be several reasons why a deposit transaction may be denied, the most common is incorrect address information or an incorrect CVV (security code). Please note, the address that is verified is the address associated with the credit/check card. Some customers make the mistake of using a local address instead of a home/permanent address, for instance. Also, be sure the CVV code is entered correctly. This is normally a three-digit number on the back of the card. Some check cards are also not accepted if a PIN number is required to complete a transaction. Only check/debit cards that can be used as credit cards are valid when making a Mountie Bounty deposit online.

As a student, you can ask for Mountie Bounty from a Guest. From MyMountaineerCard.wvu.edu, click Add Mountie Bounty on the left. Fill out the information on the bottom right of the screen titled Ask for Mountie Bounty and click Submit.

Unfortunately, only users with a Login username and password are permitted to access MyMountaineerCard and all its features. This includes students, faculty, staff and Mountaineer Temps. Students must NOT share their Login credentials; doing so is a violation of University policies.

You can instantly deactivate your Mountaineer Card if it is lost or stolen. Immediately visit MyMountaineerCard to do this. If you don't, others could potentially use your card. You are responsible for your card and any activity that occurs on it.

Once you have deactivated your card, come into one of our offices to get a new card produced. Once a new card has been issued, the lost/stolen card cannot be reactivated and will no longer work, even if found at a later date. This includes any other cards that you may have lost previously.

Note: Once you have marked your card as Lost and then have a new card printed, you must log in to report the card as Found in order for your new card to begin working.

If you have deactivated your most recent lost card and do not have a new card produced, you can reactivate the card using Report Found Card feature and can continue using the card.

Note: Only the most recent lost card can be reactivated. Any previous cards that may have been lost can never be reactivated again, even if found at a later date.

You can view your transaction history. The MyMountaineerCard home page will show financial plans and current plan balances, including Meal plans, Mountie Bounty and Dining Dollars. Click the Spending History link in the left navigation menu to view transaction details for all debit plans. The date range feature also lets you specify the dates of their search.

Once you’ve logged into MyMountaineerCard, just click the Laundry link in the left navigation menu to get started. The Laundry feature will allow you to:

  1. Check machine availability. You can view which washers/dryers are available by scrolling down through the list of residence halls, or by searching for a particular residence hall.
  2. Find and reserve machines. Once you locate a machine you want to use, you can reserve that machine for a period of five minutes. Each user is limited to reserving a maximum of three machines at once
  3. Select your favorite laundry locations. If you have a particular location that you do your laundry at the most, you can set that location as a ‘Favorite.’ By default, only your favorite locations will then be displayed the next time you visit MyMountaineerCard.
  4. Check your hold/wait times for machines. Once you’ve reserved a machine, you can check how long the machine is being held. You can also see the time remaining on a machine already in use if you want to place a hold on it or use it
  5. Set your laundry notification preferences. Users have the ability to set up an email address and/or a phone number for email or text notifications. Users will be alerted on certain occasions such as when their laundry is complete and when their laundry is almost complete. Users can also notify the last user of a machine if that person’s laundry hasn’t been picked up in a timely fashion.

Note: WVU no longer accepts Coins in its residence hall laundry facilities. Users must now deposit funds to Mountie Bounty to use the facilities.

Once you click a residence hall, you have to scroll to the bottom to view the washers and dryers for that area. To simplify your search, click the check box for your favorite residence hall locations and select My Favorites. Only your favorite locations will then be displayed, which will remain the default setting anytime you visit MyMountaineerCard. You can add or remove favorites at your discretion at any time, or click All Rooms to view all the available laundry locations.

Users have the ability to set up an email address and/or a phone number for email or text notifications. In addition to being notified about laundry, users can also set up their preferences for Mountie Bounty or Dining Dollars. Users taking advantage of this feature can be notified when:

  • The balance of their plan drops below a specified amount
  • A withdrawal exceeding a specified amount has been made from their account
  • A deposit exceeding a specified amount has been made to their account
To add a new preference, follow these steps within MyMountaineerCard:
  1. After selecting the Notification Preferences option in the left navigation menu, click the Add button to add a new notification.
  2. If selecting the email method:
    1. Enter the email address.
    2. Provide a description (optional).
    3. Click Save.
  3. If selecting the text method:
    1. Enter the 10-digit phone number WITHOUT hyphens.
    2. Select the wireless service provider.
    3. Provide a description (optional).
    4. Click Send Confirmation Code.
    5. Once the confirmation code is received on your PC/MAC or wireless device, enter the code in the white box and click the Confirm.
    6. If successful, the status will change from UNCOMFIRMED to CONFIRMED.
    7. Finally, click the terms and conditions checkbox and Save to complete the setup of your preference

Even though the setup screen prompts you for a phone number and displays hyphens in the example, the notification preference may not register if hyphens are used. Please verify that the phone number you entered does not have hyphens and then try again.

Also, you need to send a confirmation code to the number you provided and confirm this code. Click the Send Confirmation Code button, then enter the code in the white box and select Confirm. If successful, the Status will change from Unconfirmed to Confirmed. Finally, click the terms and conditions checkbox and the ‘Save’ button to register your phone number. Step-by-step instructions for setting up a notification preference can be found at MyMountaineerCard. If you are still having problems, please submit a ticket using the Request Assistance for Mountaineer Cards service page.

The time remaining on any load in progress should remain in the memory of the machine. However, laundry machines do not restart automatically, so when the power is restored to your building/floor and the laundry machine, you will need to select the laundry cycle again and reactivate the machine.

Note: While the timer will wait for user interaction for washers, the time will automatically begin counting down for dryers as soon as the machine is powered again. To maximize the drying time on your load, you will need to choose a cycle and reactivate the machine as soon as power is restored.

We replaced the tool used to make Mountie Bounty deposits. Parents and others must visit this page to make guest deposits. Simply choose the “Parent/Guest Add Mountie Bounty” button above. You'll need to know the student's Login username. Students should NOT share their passwords with parents, friends or anyone else.

Students may continue to invite parents or others to make deposits on their behalf using the “Ask for Mountie Bounty” button in the new system. Each request will generate a one-time-use link. A few key changes:

  • Users may add any amount of money between $10 and $500, rather than just pre-determined increments.
  • The system now lets you save your credit card number for future use. However, the 3-digit security code will be required for each deposit.
