Creating a Profile in WVUHIre

Overview:

Anyone interested in applying for a job with West Virginia University can create a general profile to simplify applying for positions. Your profile will store your employment and personal information so you do not have to fill out each job application individually.

How to create a profile:

  1. Log in to WVUHire.

  2. To continue filling out your profile, click your username in the top right corner of the job board.

  3. Click on Profile.

  4. On the Notifications and Preferences page, select the checkboxes that correspond with your employment preference.
    Note: If you select the box at the top of the page, you will receive email notifications when a new position matching your preferences is posted.

  5. You must select at least one option in the Job Field section.

  6. Click Add to List.

  7. Click Save and Continue to fill out the rest of your profile.

  8. You must select at least one option in the Location section.

  9. Click Add to List.

  10. Click Save and Continue.

  11. To input your previous work experience, you will have three options. To have your profile automatically filled out with your information, you may either upload a resume file or connect your LinkedIn profile. To manually type in the required fields (those marked with a red asterisk), you can select the option that says “No thanks, I will fill out the online submission manually.”

  12. You will then be directed through several sections with fields regarding your education and experience that need completed. If you chose to autocomplete your application, please verify the information is correct in each field. Otherwise, manually input the required fields. Once you finish a section, click Save and Continue to advance to the next portion of the application.

  13. On the Additional Attachments page, you will have the option to upload documents of your choosing (resume, references, cover letter, etc.).

    1. Click Browse to upload a document from your computer.

    2. Once your file has been selected, click Attach.
      Note: If you have uploaded a resume, please click the checkbox under the word Resume in the box at the bottom of the screen.

    3. Click Save and Continue.

  14. Next, you will be on the Review and Submit page. Please verify your information is correct. If you need to edit any information, click the Edit button next to the section title that needs updated.

  15. Once you are satisfied with your profile, click Submit.

  16. If your profile is incomplete, you may click Save as Draft and come back to it later.
