Supervisor Access to Former Employee Email

Introduction:

Supervisors with a legitimate need to access the contents of a departing employee's email, may use this service to request access to mailbox contents. This feature is only available to Office 365 email accounts. Requests for access should be submitted prior to the employee's departure. You must submit requests no later than 15 days after the employees departure.

All requests will be reviewed by the ITS Information Security team and may require additional HR approval. Approval is not guaranteed. When a request is approved, the supervisor will have access for 60 days.

Eligibility:

Faculty and staff supervisors at the WVU Morgantown campus, Potomac State College, WVU Tech or WVU Research Corporation may use this service. HSC users should contact the HSC Service Desk.

Cost:

There is no charge to request or use this service.
