Secure Shell (SSH) Gateway


Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a Secure Shell (SSH) Gateway for accessing shared computing resources from off campus. As an alternative to Workspace (VMware Horizon) and the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN) services, the SSH protocol can establish targeted connections to specific services rather than a blanket tunnel to the University.

Submit a ticket to request access to the SSH Gateway. Your supervisor or faculty sponsor will be asked to review the request and approve if remote access capabilities are needed. To learn more about using the SSH Gateway, view the Secure Shell (SSH) Gateway FAQ.

Note: The SSH Gateway is NOT to be used for file storage. Files on the Gateway servers are deleted after 10 days.
