Classroom Attendance Monitoring Request


Attendance monitoring is a part of MyMountaineerCard and students may check into a class using Mobile ID. See the handouts attached under Files for more information about using Mobile ID. Instructors can refer to the Classroom Attendance Monitoring article to learn more about their options for logging attendance and reporting from MyMountaineerCard.

Faculty and instructors do not have to submit a request to use attendance monitoring. Submit a ticket to request assistance with Classroom Attendance Monitoring.

Mobile ID application requirements:

  • Be sure Wi-Fi, cellular data, location services and bluetooth are enabled for the application to function properly.
  • Make sure the time on your device is accurate. You may experience issues if your device's time is off by more than five minutes. To resolve issues, adjust the date/time settings on your device.
  • iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices require iOS 9.0 or later.
  • Android devices require OS 4.3 or higher.

Using DUO Authentication:

When logging into a WVU application that requires additional verification, you will see the Duo Authentication screen, where you’ll need to verify it’s really you. For classroom attendance monitoring, we suggest you use the Send Me a Push option for authentication, as the passcode option times out when switching between applications. Faculty and instructors do not have to submit a request to use attendance monitoring - access is already enabled. Faculty and instructors may request this service.


There is no charge to request or use this service.
