How to Install the Workspace Client


Workspace ( is a single location for all current faculty and employees to access on-campus resources from off campus. You should only install the Workspace client if you need to print from Workspace or need to access your local drive.

How to install Workspace:

  1. Go to

  2. Click the Download the app link at the bottom of the page. This link will include the name of your operating system based on the computer you are using.

  3. The download will automatically begin.

  4. Follow the installation prompts according to your operating system. For assistance with installation, see the VMware Horizon Client Documentation site.

Users with WVU-owned machines an also install the VMware Horizon Client from the Software Center or Self Service application.

How to log into Workspace:

  1. Open the VMware Horizon Client

  2. Double click the + box to add a server location. 

  3. Enter as the name of the connection server and click OK.

  4. A Login window will ask for your Duo user name and passcode. Enter your WVU Login username and password and click Login.

    Note: You will receive an Access Denied error if you enter your WVU Login credentials incorrectly. 

  5. To have a Duo push notification sent to your phone, type 1 (if you have multiple devices enrolled with Duo, enter the number next to the device you want to receive the push) or push. You can also generate a Duo passcode from your token or app and enter that instead.

After logging into Workspace, you can open browsers and bookmark pages you visit for easy reference the next time you log in. These bookmarks are shared across the client and the web versions.
