Software for Personally Owned Computers (Personal Funds)


The West Virginia University Software License Information Center (SLIC) negotiates annual software site license agreements with many software vendors to provide students, faculty and staff with free or discounted software for their personally owned machines.

Discounted SPSS/AMOS and SAS/JMP Software:

The following software is available for personal computers at a discounted price for teaching and non-commercial academic research:


Licensing restrictions:

When purchasing this software, you are agreeing that you are installing it on a personal computer for academic purposes.


Faculty can purchase this software for personally owned computers.

Staff (Academic Researchers) can purchase this software for personally owned computers.

Students can purchase this software for personally owned computers.

Note: Before submitting a request for the software, read the above licensing restrictions to make sure you qualify to use the academic software. If you have any questions, contact SLIC by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request form.

How to order:

To pay for this request, visit the SLIC Software Request Form. After clicking Submit Request, you will need to choose Purchase with personal funds and complete the form.

License period:

SPSS/AMOS software and SAS/JMP software are annual subscriptions that run from the date of issue of each license through September 30th of each fiscal year. At that time, and each year thereafter, it will be necessary to pay an additional fee to renew each license. The license fees are prorated quarterly.
