SSL Error Messages in MasterApps (Citrix)


Follow the troubleshooting steps below for SSL error messages in MasterApps (Citrix).

SSL Error 61:

You are receiving an SSL Error 61 when trying to access icons from MasterApps. The error message reads:

Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. SSL Error 61: You have not chosen to trust "RapidSSL SHA256 CA", the issuer of the server's security certificate.

If you receive this error message, you will need to upgrade your client software. Follow the instructions in the Resolve MasterApps SSL Error 61 guide to resolve the problem.

SSL Error 47:

If you receive the SSL 47 error message "server sent SSL v3 alert handshake failure," uninstall your Citrix Receiver. Log into MasterApps at and install the version the site automatically provides.

SSL Error 4 (Linux devices):

If you receive an SSL Error 4 pop up message when using MasterApps, follow the steps below to install the current version of Citrix Receiver.
  1. Uninstall the current version of Citrix Receiver from your Linux device.
  2. Install Citrix Receiver 13.4 from the Receiver for Linux Downloads web page.
    • For Ubuntu: Select Debian Packages then Web Package (Web Receiver Only).
    • For Fedora/RHEL: Select RPM Packages then Web Package (Web Receiver Only).
  3. After the installation, Linux's Firefox or Chrome will launch the published MasterApps (Citrix) application without the SSL Error 4 pop-up message.
  4. After completing these steps, refer to How to Prevent Installation Prompts in MasterApps (Citrix) to prevent installation prompts from Firefox or Chrome.
