Unable to Sign Into Cisco Jabber

Overview:

Users may receive an error message when trying to sign into Cisco Jabber. This error message typically occurs when the Jabber client software has been reset. This can happen possibly due to a different user signing in with a different account on the same device, if the device has been recently restored or if the Jabber Client has been newly installed. 

Problem:

You are unable to sign into Cisco Jabber client and receive the following error message:

Cannot find your services automatically. Click advanced settings to set up manually.

Solution:

  1. Type your LoginUsername@jabber.wvu.edu in the field and click Continue. For example, if your login username is wvmountaineer, then you would enter wvmountaineer@jabber.wvu.edu.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. You may receive pop-up messages asking you to accept security certificates. Accept the certificates.
  4. The username and password fields should display your WVU Login username. Type your Login password in the password field.
  5. Click Sign in.
  6. Accept any security certificates if prompted.

If you are still unable to sign in, submit a ticket to ITS.
