Creating a Content Area

Overview:

In a content area, you can add content items, file attachments, links to websites, tests, assignments, and multimedia. You can also add other containers to organize your content.

How to Add a Content Area:

  1. Be sure Edit Mode is ON so you can access all of the instructor's functions.
  2. Select the Add Menu Item icon above the course menu to open the menu.
  3. Select Content Area and type a name. 
  4. Select the Available to Users check box if you're ready for students to see it. You can create content areas ahead of time and make them unavailable to students. Then, make them available at the appropriate time. 
  5. After you submit, a link to the new content area appears on the course menu. A newly created content area is an empty container. Select the link to the content area to add content.
