Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor for Instructors

Respondus LockDown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a locked browser for taking tests in eCampus (Blackboard). It prevents test takers from printing, copying, going to another URL or accessing other applications during a test. Only students need to download the LockDown Browser. Students should refer to the Respondus LockDownBrowser article for download instructions. K12 students who are in dual enrollment (High school access) at WVU and use Chromebooks managed by K12, can use Respondus Lockdown Browser (RLDB) in eCampus by following the step by step instructions provided in this PDF guide. Chromebooks managed by K12 can be used to take exams that require LockDown Browser. But exams requiring Respondus Monitor are not supported. RLDB is NOT available and will not work on personal Chromebooks.

Instructors can learn more about using Respondus for test building in their course in the Respondus 4.0 article.

Respondus Monitor
Respondus Monitor is a part of the LockDown Browser that enables institutions to protect the integrity of non-proctored, online exams. There are no fees, registrations costs, or departmental charges associated with using Respondus Monitor. Students use their own computer and a webcam to record assessment sessions, all without leaving the institution's learning management system which is eCampus.

Watch the Prepare an exam for use with Respondus Monitor video to learn more about using Respondus Monitor. Refer students to the Respondus LockDown Browser for Students article for more information about installing and using Respondus Monitor.
